Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 01/08/2022 – 7/08/2022

There were 36 boats out in the past week with 49 rods, 63 fish were kept, weighing 146 lbs, and 73 fish were returned. Fish were taking buzzers, crunchers, sedges, muskins, diawl bach's, fabs, also, various dries, snakes, humungous, floating fry patterns and boobies.

The weeds in the Loch are now starting to recede and the algae have now cleared with the clarity greatly improving.


The best catches during the week were by Mr Graham who returned 10 fish, and Mr Thompson who kept 4 rainbows weighing 12 lbs 8oz. and out again on Wednesday kept 3 rainbows for 12 lbs 8oz. Linlithgow AC was out on Thursday evening with 5 anglers keeping 16 fish weighing 35 lbs 2oz. Edinburgh Trout Anglers Club fishing with 3 anglers on Friday kept 13 fish weighing 40 lbs, Nigel Muckle with his partner had a good day returning 10 fish to the loch, also, Gavin Dunn and George Mackintosh fishing solo returned 6 & 7 fish respectively.


Saturday, being a quiet day saw Scott Hamlin fishing with his brother and nephew who came up trumps returning 5 trout caught on diawl bachs and fabs using a floating line all within his 4hr permit.


Out on Sunday, Ali Fyvie put back 4 fish on his 4hr permit while Jimmy Russell also returned 4 on his day permit.
