Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 01/09/19

Last week very few anglers fished the loch due to the high winds and heavy rain which prevailed all week.

Jimmy Russel went out on Sunday as usual and managed to return four fish but reported many fish taking short. Jim was fishing buzzers. The Saturday AC kept ten fish for 32lbs. Bill Salmond had four for 15lb including a fine specimen of 6lb and Jock Cowan kept three for 10lb including a rainbow of 4½lb. Best flies were cormorants and red diawl bachs on floating line.

During the week Alan Tennant returned five fish on claret hoppers and was fishing the East Bay. FAFA President Alan was only out for about one hour but saw a lot of fish activity in that short time.

Fire and Rescue AC were out on Thursday and kept ten fish for 29lbs, mostly on CDC’s and red and black buzzers. Evening rod A Tennant kept two for 6lb on sedge hoppers.

On Friday Gavin Dunn returned seven on pink blobs, Nigel Muckle returned four fish and J Hay five.

Water clarity is very good and weed is no problem.

We continue to stock regularly.

Anglers please note that the evening sessions are now finished for this season but will resume in May next year.
