Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 02/05/2022 – 08/05/2022


There have been 72 boats out in the past week. There were 131 rods, 193 fish were kept, weighing 618 lbs, and 230 fish were returned. The best tactics were floating and midge tip lines using buzzers/muskins, blobs, damsels, diawl bachs, cormorants, fabs and black/green lures.


Monday 2nd of May's best catches were to Stewart Hepburn with his partner returning16 fish within 4 hours while Alan McGregor returned 13 rainbows he netted out on his own. Tuesday saw Mr Convoy with a nice braise of rainbows for 6 lbs.


On Wednesday Nigel Muckle and his partner returned 14 fish, Mr McLean and his partner kept 4 for 13 lbs, and Mr Mabon with his boat partner kept 3 for 8 lbs 8oz. George Mackintosh out with Oliver Seddon kept 2 for 7 lbs and returned 2 within 4 hours.


Thursday’s anglers had a great day - George Pollini put back 10 fish, Tam Easton and his partner kept 3 for 11 lbs and returned 12 fish including a pike 😀. – see his Facebook post and photos below



Mr Stewart with his partner returned 27 into the Loch. Ian Dobbie and partner returned 9 fish, while Mr Boyd kept 3 fish for 11 lbs.


Friday, we had Mr Stewart and partner out again and returned 14 trout. Mr Forbes kept 3 for 8 lbs while Jim McLean kept 1 for 3 lbs 4oz. Brian Taylor returned 7 fish for the day. Balbeggie’s 10 anglers out for an evening session kept 26 fish for 72 lbs and returned 5.


Clubs out on Saturday included Townhill AC with 13 anglers who kept 37 fish for 97 lbs returning 26. Wellington AC had a mixed day with their 8 anglers only reporting 10 fish returned. However, Earlston AC did very well keeping 32 fish for 98 lbs 3oz and returning 15. Other anglers out did well, Mr Cooper returned 6, Gavin Dunn and Jim Mackie kept 4 for 13 lbs returning 2. Trevor Gibson on his own kept 4 for 12 lbs, also, Mr McGhee returned 4 caught on his own. Scott Paddon from the bank returned 7 rainbows.


On Sunday Rosyth Civil Service with 10 boats kept 28 fish for 108 lbs 13oz, Aberdour AC kept 30rainbows for 87 lbs 7oz. Kenneth Bennet kept 3 for 9 lbs, and Freddie Paddon returned 8 fish. Ian Dobbie and Jimmy Russell returned 16 fish all caught on buzzers including this beauty -
