Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 05/06/2021 - 11/06/2021

It has been a quiet week on the Loch but quite a lot of fish have been picked up using buzzers and diawl bachs. A red headed version of the diawl bach did well for Geordie Mackintosh and Ian Young from the Grangemouth Club. It was good to see big Ian out on the water again after a long absence. Geordie was able to help him by taking him out in the wheelie boat.

On Saturday, 5th R Anderson had three fish for 9lb on diawl bachs and midge tip. Falkirk Fly Dressers kept 13 for 36lb and returned a further 12 again mostly on diawl bachs. Herriot AC returned 29 fish again mostly on diawl bachs. Steven Kilpatrick from the club returned a nice brownie around 6lbs.

On a quiet Sunday Alistair Fyvie returned three on buzzers. George McBeth returned 11 on blobs and snakes on floating line and Jim Russel had five on buzzers and midge tip. On Sunday evening we had a large party from the Scottish Pike Association taking most of the boats. We don’t have the official catch returns yet but at least three fish over 20lbs were returned along with numerous smaller fish of various weights.

During the week Tom Easton kept a nice limit of four for 12lbs on a black rabbit and Jim Fairley had a good day returning 15 fish on buzzers. Grangemouth AC with two boats kept 10 for 30lbs.

Thursday was very quiet due to high wind being forecast and few fish were caught. It was the same story on Friday which is normally a busy day. Conditions were so bad that only one fish was recorded.

We continue to stock weekly and all parts of the loch are fishable.

Boats are available for most days for full day or 4-hour sessions but to avoid disappointment please call 01506 671753 or book online in advance. Evening sessions have now commenced and anglers can fish from approximately 4 pm until dusk.
