Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 09/09/19

What a difference a week can make. The colder winds have cooled down the water temperature and the loch is now fishing more like itself. Last weekend Dunfermline Artisan were out and kept 25 fish for 72lbs mostly on boobies and nymphs on intermediate lines. On the same day Jim Russel returned five including a superb rainbow of 5lbs plus.

Alistair Golden returned eight including two in the 4-5lb range. Alistair was fishing a kingfisher butcher on a floating line. Mr Johnston returned three fish, two of which were five pounders.

On Saturday loch regulars Thack AC kept 11 fish for 31lbs and returned a further 29 on catch and release mostly on buzzers below FABS. Hedgehogs with one boat kept five for 13lbs and returned two. Falkirk Fly Dressers who are also loch regulars kept 19 fish for 49lbs on a mixture of lures.

Locher AC kept 13 for 36lbs mostly on buzzers on float line and R Sneddon kept three fish for 8lbs.

Robin Smith had a brace and half with one at 5lbs and the other two around 4lb each.

The Town Bay area is fishing quite well but the grown-on fish are being found in the shallow water of Peel Bay.

Most areas are fishable and the water clarity is very good.

We continue to stock regularly.

Anglers please note that the evening sessions are now finished for this season but will resume in May next year.

We are now offering four-hour sessions at £15 for catch and release and £20 for a two fish kill ticket.
