There have been 74 boats out in the past week. There were 131 rods, 143 fish were kept, weighing 409 lbs, and 395 fish were returned. Best tactics were still floating, midge tip and di3 lines using buzzers, blobs, diawl bachs, cormorants and black/green lures.
On Monday 11th we had the Fire Service out keeping 29 fish for 89 lbs 7oz, Alan and Brian Tennant returned 9 rainbows. Bank angler caught 1 for 3 lbs 4oz.
Tuesday saw 2 anglers out in boats releasing 10 trout (1 in double figures) and keeping 2 for 6 lbs 8oz.
On Wednesday 9 anglers had a good day on the loch keeping 6 returning 51 fish. Kenneth Andrew with Jim Easton returned 11 while Tam Easton on his own put back 11 fish. Alan Tennant also returned 10 rainbows.
Tam Easton out again on Thursday with his boat partner kept 6 for 16 lbs and returned 14 fish into the loch. Stanley Franklyn with his partner kept 2 for 7 lbs, returning 14 fish. Robin Lambert was out for 4hrs returned 2 to the loch. Most of the 27 anglers had a very good day on Friday – Nigel Muckle and his partner returned 16 fish; Ron Smith with George Mackintosh returned 10 with a few good weights - see photo
as did Gavin Dunn with Jim Mackie, also, Mr Sturrock with Mr McCluckie, while Ali Fyvie with his partner returned 16 fish and Ian Dobbie and his partner put back 26 rainbows. In total 13 fish were kept and 111 were returned to the water. Clubs out on Saturday included Waders AC who kept 7 trout for 21 lbs 4oz and returned 4 fish. Rosyth Civil Service had a good bag with 28 for 76 lbs 11oz with 9 being returned, their heaviest trout being 5 lbs – see photo.
Ferranti AC with 4 boats kept 11 for 42 lbs 8oz (one at 5 lbs 4oz) and returned 4 fish. Neptune Game Fishers with 6 anglers also kept 11 fish for 28 lbs. George Pollini on catch & release had 10 and Graham Hoggan from the bank returned 9 trout into the loch.
On Sunday St Mungo AC with 5 boats kept 9 fish weighing 23 lbs 8oz and returned 3. Ferry Fly Fishers had 7 anglers catching 13 trout for 38 lbs 8oz, returning 2. Ali Fyvie out with Ian Dobbie returned 22 rainbows. While Freddie Paddon on his own put 12 back into the water.
