Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 16/09/19


With the weather remaining cooler the fish are still active resulting in good catches.


On Monday Jim Russell returned six fish. Tuesday saw Mr. Johnston and Mr. Davidson return four fish each. George McIntosh and Ian McDougall returned five fish between them. Gavin Dunn and Alan Tennant had a great day on Wednesday returning eight fish while George and Ian being out again put back three fish. On Thursday Linlithgow A.C. were out with 3 boats keeping thirteen fish for 35lbs 4oz, one weighing 4lbs. Mr Faden and Mr Graham fishing on their own each returned three fish. Friday saw another good day, Andrew Lumsden and colleague out in the Wheelyboat kept four weighing 12lbs and returned eight fish. Gavin Dunn returned eight. Robin Smith didn’t catch his usual amount returning only two fish.


The weekend produced some really good results –


On Saturday Gartosh A.C. kept twenty two for 63lbs 8oz and returned one, while the Scottish Deaf Flyfishing Club kept ten for 29lbs and returned six. Mr Graham and boat partner returned eleven fish. Smaller catches were also reported for the day.


Another good day on Sunday saw Ian Dobbie return six and Mr Goldie return seven fish. Bridge Inn A.C. kept six fish for 19lbs 2oz. Leslie and Glenrothes A.C. kept 12 for 41lbs 8oz and return two fish.


Lines and flies that were catching for the week were -

Midge Tip and Di 3

Damsels, Yellow Dancer, Pink Blobs & Lures, Diawl Bach, Green Cormorant and Green Minkie. Predominant colours being green and pink.


Fish are being found straight out from the jetty, there are many fish being sighted at the top end of the Loch which is not fished by many anglers. Most areas are fishable and the water clarity is still very good.

Anglers please note that the evening sessions are now finished for this season but will resume in May next year.
