Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 17/05/2022 – 22/05/2022

There have been 56 boats out in the past week. There were 101 rods, 179 fish were kept, weighing 215 lbs, and 190 fish were returned. The best tactics were floating and midge tip lines using buzzers/muskins, blobs, diawl bachs, cormorants, fabs and black/green lures. A lot of the fish are still being caught near the edges and near the surface.

Anglers out during the week had excellent catches, the best catch was by Ken Wood and his partner who kept 4 fish for 15 lbs and returned 25 mostly caught with buzzers using a midge tip line. The photo below is of a nice brownie caught on an ace of spades by George Mackintosh on Wednesday.

Friday had SSEB HQ AC out with 9 anglers who kept 15 trout for 45 lbs 4oz (one at 5 lbs 8oz), also, returning 6. Other anglers fishing the loch that day all had very good results, again, buzzers doing the business.

Clubs out on Saturday were Falkirk Municipal AC who returned 8 fish between their 5 anglers. Butcher Boy AC had 10 boats out and kept 55 fish weighing 164 lbs 8oz, they also returned 25 back into the loch. Scott Paddon fishing from the north bank during the day returned 12 rainbows, his dad Freddie returned 7 from the bank while fishing in the evening. Mark Lawton out in a boat returned 5 fish.

On Sunday Rosyth Civil Service kept 38 fish weighing 188 lbs 7oz between their 16 anglers, Balbeggie AC with 12 anglers kept 33 trout for 98 lbs 14oz and returned 8 to the loch. Jimmy Russell and Gavin Dunn put back 6 good trout, Freddie Paddon fishing on his own returned 5 fish, while Mr Graham solely returned 3.
