Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 18/07/2022 – 30/07/2022

There were 43 boats out in the past two weeks with 56 rods, 21 fish were kept, weighing 63 lbs, and 126 fish were returned. Fish were taking suspended buzzers, muskins, diawl bach's, hot head damsels and boobies.

The Loch has a lot of weeds and some algae, but catches have been good in the weed-free areas where the fish are concentrated.

Best catches during the week 18th – 24th July went to Mr Mitchell who returned 7 fish, and Mr T. Graham and his partner returned 10 rainbows into the loch. Friday 22nd saw Ian Dobbie return 5 fish, Andy Lumsden and partner keeping 5 for 15 lbs while friend Tam McIntyre returned 4. John Innes fishing the evening session kept 4 fish for 16 lbs and returned 6 – see photo.

The weekend’s best catch went to Jimmy Russell fishing solo returning 5 trout to the loch.

Robert Anthony fishing with his son did well keeping 1 fish weighing 3 lbs 2 oz and returning 2 (young lad’s first-time fishing and netted a nice one – see Facebook post).

Weekend 29th – 30th July was quiet, however, Stuart McKay fishing with his son kept 2 rainbows weighing 6 lbs while Munro returned 1 (his 1st fish of the season). Ali Fyvie out with Robin Lambert on a 4-hour permit returned 2 fish each, one a cracking Brownie weighing 3lbs. caught by Robin – see his photo
