Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 21/04/19

The improving weather in the last week has seen more anglers fishing the loch. Those who have been most successful last Sunday, 14 April included Aberdour Angling Club and Dunfermline Rusty Nail who caught 43 trout for 101lb using either cormorants or bright small lures on an intermediate or midge tip line. Bank anglers also did well, with good catches including a nice Brownie

The midweek anglers included SPRA West who managed 39 fish for approximately 105lb. On the Wednesday Mr Kinare on the bank caught his limit of three fish for 9lbs while on the same day the Sottish Fire Service using mainly yellow dancers or blobs had 20 trout for 55lb. The loch did not fish as well on the Thursday – strange as 800lb of fish had been put in on the Wednesday – but one angler from the ‘One That Got Away’ Club caught a 3lb brownie.

On the Friday a total of 57 was caught – the most successful anglers using a small white tadpole. Anglers fishing on Saturday had a bonanza with a total of 104 fish reaching the net. Those successful included the Bank of Scotland East who had 31 using buzzers or fabs on a sink tip; Craig Cowan had 22 on a catch and release ticket using buzzers while Earlston AA had 30 fish for 56lb with a further 11 being released.
