On Sunday, 18 April 10 boat anglers and one bank fisher caught a total of 36 fish. Several of them blanked but the anglers who were catching were mainly fishing boobies, buzzers and fabs on a midge tip or Floating line were the ones who were catching.
Monday and Tuesday saw a total of 10 anglers catch 17 trout with those fish being caught on either black and green fritz lures, damsels, buzzers and diawl bachs.
Wednesday and Thursday saw our weekly stocking of 700lb. This influx of fish allowed 18 anglers on kill tickets to catch 24 fish weighing 74lb while those fishing catch and release managed to bring 64 fish to the net. Of those fish which were caught most were taken on midge tip lines using buzzers, coral boobies, diawl bachs or black and green lures.
Our Friday regular customers had mixed fortunes with Nigel Muckle and partner killing four fish for 17lb 18oz and releasing a further 14 caught on buzzers. Keith Anderson and partner landed eight fish for 23lb but most other fishers only managed one or two fish. Of these caught the killing flies were buzzers and boobies.
