Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 28/06/2020

Due to the installation of our new Jetty which is now in place and looking splendid, we had very few anglers out during the first half of last week.

On Sunday 21, June Mr Martin kept two fish for 6lb and Coupar AC who had been pre-booked had quite a good session keeping 19 fish for 59lbs mostly on lures.

We had no boats out on Monday and Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Jim Fairlie returned four fishing a rabbit and Messrs McDougal and Frew returned five on buzzers.

On Thursday Fife Club ABCD kept 14 fish for 39lbs mostly on buzzers. Trevor Gibson had two as did Mr Graham.

On Friday Nigel Muckle returned 11 on various lures in the deep water.

Saturday was a day of wind and rain. Butcher Boy AC was out with 11 boats and kept 35 fish for 105lbs. One weighing 5½ and five at 4lb. The anglers were fishing deep using lures boobies and cormorants.

The weed growth is making access to the deeper water a bit tricky, so our boatmen have set out some markers as guides. Once you are out to the deep area there is plenty of fishing water and the fish seem to be lying fairly deep.

We have once again had reports of fish being dumped in the council bins. Please DON’T do that. If any angler has unwanted fish please leave them at the lodge and George McIntosh will use his considerable fish smoking skills to turn them into very welcome meals for pensioners and other people who enjoy them.

A fresh injection of fish was stocked on Thurs 25th as usual.
