Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 01/03/2054 –02130/2025

On Saturday, we had 12 boats out with 19 anglers, 19 fish were kept weighing 70 1/4 Lbs, 68 fish were returned. Anglers found fish 3 – 4 feet deep using floating, midge tip and sink tip lines, the best flies were cormorants, blobs, black green lures, rabbits and snakes - some caught were dropped near the net.

The best catches for Saturday using the right tactics were by;

John Walker returned 9 trout staying in the same area using a 6’ midge tip line and cormorants, Mark Smith with a floating line and green rabbit returned 11 fish. Ian Laird and his boat partner went out for 4 hrs, kept 4 fish weighing in at 15 ¾ Lbs: the heaviest was 14 Lbs 14 oz and returned 6. Mark Lawton and partner kept 8 fish for 27 ½ Lbs, returned 4. Again F/lines with cormorants were successful for them.

Sunday saw a change in the weather, being windier and from a different direction. Linlithgow Rose FFC out with 5 angles; one angler on a kill permit kept 1 Rainbow weighing 3 Lbs 10 oz, they returned 4 between them. Their tactics were sink tip and intermediate lines with cormorants, mini snakes and pink zonker. Out for 4 hrs using midge tips with lures and Vivas Ali Fyvie out with George Mackintosh kept 2 fish for 81/2 Lbs returning 4 to the Loch – see photos.

Steven Borwick and his partner used intermediate lines and pink snakes returned 15 fish.
