Overall weekly summary for Linlithgow Loch Fishery catch report 29/06/2026–05/07/2026


Total rods out: 21. Total fish caught, 13 (11 kept, 2 released). Total weight of kept fish: 31¾  lbs.

Weather conditions: Very warm days with a changing wind.

Best tactics: Using Floating, Di3 and Di5 lines. It was a hard week for anglers with the water being warmer than normal. The anglers that were out on the Loch were hitting fish but not hooking into them.

Flies used:

The most effective flies for the week included: Buzzers, Dries, black lures and various small nymphs.

Best catches:


Monday to Friday

Tom Lindsay and partner kept 3 fish weighing 8½ lbs; SSEB out with four anglers kept 5 trout for 14¾ lbs; Ali Fyvie with George Mackintosh managed to keep 2 trout weighing 6 lbs.  Jimmy Russell out with Gavin Dunn netted 1 fish for 2½ lbs;


Saturday

Douglass Gribble with partner Tom using Di3 lines found fish but didn’t succeed in getting them to the net. Douglass’s brother with Ronnie struggled to find fish.


Sunday:

Mr Lewis returned 1 Rainbow trout.
