Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 02/06/2025 –08/06/2025

Over the week, 32 boats and 79 anglers were out; 72 fish weighing 207 lbs were kept, and 89 fish were returned. The successful setups used floating, Midge-tip with blobs/fabs (orange), buzzers, Diawl Bachs, black/green lures, and size 14 dries, especially. Grunters and hedgehogs.


The best catches for the week using the right tactics were by;


Monday to Friday:

Robin Smith and George Mackintosh kept 4 fish weighing 13½ lbs and released 1; Ali Fyvie and Gavin Dunn were out until lunchtime and returned with 5 trout; Andy Lumsden and his mate kept 4 fish weighing 11½ lbs. Tam Forsyth kept 2 fish for 6 lbs and released 2; John McLean and Ian McDougall kept 5 trout weighing 15 lbs.


Saturday: The Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire out with 13 boats had a good day netting 34 fish weighing 92½ lbs – see photos of the winner Callum Brown with the heaviest fish (5.5 lbs.) and the team John Scott and Ian Taylor with the best catch for the day (8 fish weighing 20 lbs 3 oz).



Alan McGregor also had a great day releasing 15 trout, 12 taken on a size 14 Grunter and 3 on hedgehogs.


Sunday: Perth Civil Service AC’s 8 anglers were delighted with keeping 21 fish weighing 64¼ lbs and releasing 13; Ian Dobbie fishing solo returned 16 trout; Tam Easton with Gavin Dunn also returned 16 fish; Jimmy Russell out with his son James released 12 Rainbows into the Loch.
