Linlithgow Loch Fishery, Catch Report – 07/04/2025 –13/04/2025

Over the week, 63 boats and 104 anglers were out; 103 fish weighing 229¼ lbs were kept, and 255 fish were returned. The successful set-ups used floating, Midge-tip with blobs/fabs, buzzers, especially vicars, Diawl Bachs, hot head dancers and snakes.

Linlithgow Loch Fishery, Catch Report: Best catches for the week using the right tactics were by;

Monday: Mr Duncan and his boat partner bagged 2 for 6½ lbs.

Tuesday: Ali Fyvie with George Mackintosh on a 4-hour permit returned 3 Rainbows; Tam Easton returned 4 trout.

Wednesday: Kenneth Anderson put back 10 fish; Ali Fyvie was out again with George Mackintosh for 4 hours and kept 2 trout weighing 9¼ lbs and returned 7 Rainbows - see photo of Ali's 6 lb Rainbow;

Brian Taylor put back 9 fish; Mr Murgatroyd put back 5 trout; Mark Lawton and his boat partner returned 16 Rainbows; Freddie Padden released 5 trout.

Thursday: Mr Malcolmson and his three friends released 40 Rainbows into the Loch.

 On Friday: North Berwick AC kept 6 trout weighing 16¾ lbs, they also released 16; Nigel Muckle fishing the same area for the day returned 26 fish; Andy Lumsden and friend took 4 fish for 12 lbs; Robin Smith with George Mackintosh released 8 fish; Gavin Dunn and Jimmy Russell returned 18 Rainbows; Mr Thurstain and partner kept 8 fish for 24½ lbs; Graham Hoggan returned 6 fish; Mike Boyle released 7 and Shane Kelly with is buddy returned 19 trout.

Saturday: Rosyth Civil Service AC out with 7 boats kept 33 fish weighing 60 lbs 14 oz; Gartosh AC’s 9 boats managed to keep 25 fish for 39½ lbs; Mr Bell and grandson returned 4 fish.

Sunday: Kelty Artisans AC’s 8 anglers kept 12 trout weighing 32½ lbs and returned 2; Edinburgh Trout Anglers 7 members kept 9 trout for 28 lbs 3 oz and released 1; Ali Fyvie out for 4 hours released 4 trout and dropped the same amount; Jimmy Russell returned 9 fish; Ian Dobbie returned17 Rainbows while Alan Mcgregor put back 8 trout; Thomas Tams out for 5 hours released one Rainbow weighing 8 lbs and another weighing 10 lbs
