Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 09/05/2022 – 15/05/2022

There have been 37 boats out in the past week. There were 58 rods, 61 fish were kept, weighing 188 lbs, and 158 fish were returned. The best tactics were floating and midge tip lines using buzzers/muskins, blobs, diawl bachs, cormorants, fabs and black/green lures. A lot of the fish have been caught near the edges near the surface.

It’s been quieter this week, probably due to the winds. The best catches were by Mr Graham returning 8 fish (one just under 8 lbs), Ian Dobbie with David Paterson returning 22, Alan Tennant putting back 5, Mr Antczak keeping 3 for 9 lbs and Ricky Wilson keeping 2 for 7 lbs, returning 2 to the loch.

Waders AC was out on Saturday with 4 anglers who kept 14 fish for 46 lbs returning 11. Alan Stewart with his partner kept 4 fish weighing 15 lbs 8oz and returned 3. Mark Lawton returned 7 to the water and Freddie Paddon put back 3 fish.

On Sunday CSSC Perth Club with 5 boats out kept 28 rainbows for 79 lbs 8oz. Ian Dobbie out with Jimmy Russell returned 21 fish and George Pollini fishing himself returned 9. Mr McCutcheon kept 4 for 12 lbs and Jim Mackie with Gavin Dunn kept 3 fish weighing 11 lbs. Other anglers included Trevor Gibson, Alan McGregor and Freddie Paddon who returned 14, 8 and 5 trout respectively – photo of one of Trevor Gibson’s rainbows. Alastair Golding fishing from the bank returned 7 fish caught on buzzers.
