Over the week there were 33 boats out with 56 anglers, 22 fish were kept weighing 76¼ lbs, 304 fish were returned; an average of . Midge-tip, sink-tip and intermediate lines used with blobs, cormorants, black/green lures, Humungus and snakes (esp. pink) was the successful set ups.
The best catches for weekdays were by;
On Tuesday Graham Phusein with his boat partner kept 8 fish for 28 lbs and returned 20 Rainbows, Ali Fyvie and George Mackintosh took 4 for 14 lbs put 3 back missed a few using orange blob, Humungus, booby, gold arse cat booby - lines midge tip, slow glass and hover line– see photos, John and Robin Lambert kept 4 fish weighing 12¾ lbs.
Wednesday’s best catches saw Mr Penman out himself returned 7 trout, Mr Skedd fishing from the north bank returned 8 Rainbows to the Loch.
Thursday, we had Tam Robinson and partner keeping 2 trout for 8¼ lbs and returning 9, George Pellini singularly returned 23 fish while Mark Smith returned 13 trout.
Friday was a busy day with Nick Pollard and partner keeping 2 for 8 lbs, they also returned 6 fish, Gavin Dunn and Jimmy Russell returned 8 Rainbows, Nigel Muckle out alone returned 18 trout, Robin Smith with George Mackintosh returned 18 fish, Ian Dobbie singularly returned 6 while Freddie Padden with Mark Lawton returned 21 fish.
Saturday had excellent catches: Heriot AC with six anglers returned 30 trout, Falkirk Fly Dressers out with 3 anglers returned 39 fish back into the Loch. Aaron Myers and partner out for 4 hours returned 12 and 4 fish respectively, Alan McGregor fishing solo returned 11 fish. Young Jude Whitfield and friend having never fished the Loch before managed to net 4 trout.
On Sunday, Mr Gibb and parent returned 5 trout, Des O’Connor kept 2 fish weighing 6 lbs. Ali Fyvie out with Jimmy Russell had a couple by noon while Jim returned 11 Rainbows – see photos. Craig Cowan had a great day to himself returning 16 trout.
