Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 14/04/2025 –20/04/2025

Over the week, 43 boats and 77 anglers were out; 34 fish weighing 105¼ lbs were kept, and 274 fish were returned. The successful set-ups used floating, Midge-tip with blobs/fabs(orange), buzzers, especially vicars, Diawl Bachs(black), lures and snakes.
Best catches for the week using the right tactics were by;
Monday: Ron Thompson kept 2 fish for 6 lbs 2 oz and released 4.
Tuesday: Ali Fyvie with George Mackintosh on a 4-hour permit returned 4 Rainbows; Mr Skedd returned 7 trout; George Pelini returned 14 fish; Liveline AC’s 8 anglers using ??? kept 7 trout weighing 22 ¼ lbs, they also released 5 fish.
Wednesday: George Mackintosh was out for 4 hours and kept 2 trout weighing 8 lbs and returned 1.
Thursday: Mr Hanniford and his boat partner kept 5 trout weighing 15 lbs 6 oz; Marty Nelson released 4 Rainbows into the Loch.
On Friday Mr Westoby and his friend released 12 Rainbows; Robin Smith with George Mackintosh out for 4 hours released 5 fish; Gavin Dunn and Jimmy Russell returned 16 Rainbows; Graham Hoggan returned 10 fish; Stuart Strachan released 21 trout while his pal Mark Sturrock returned 6, they were using floating lines with muskins, black Diawl Bachs (size 14) and fabs; Freddie Padden returned 7 trout.
Saturday: Club IBM Freshwater AC with eight anglers kept 14 fish weighing 40 lbs and returned 3; Ferranti AC with four boats kept 4 fish for 13½ lbs and returned 27; Last Cast AC’s five anglers released 46 trout: they fished the east end of the Loch using floating lines mostly with buzzers, Diawl Bachs, muskins and snakes.
Sunday: St Mungo AC with four boats released 9 fish; Ali Fyvie with Jimmy Russell returned 21 fish; John McGonagle out for 4 hours released 4 trout; Mr Lewis and partner put back 12 Rainbows; Mark Lawton returned 8 fish; Mr Anthony and friend released 8 trout. Fishing from the bank: Alister Golding returned 3 trout – see photo of one of his catches.
