Weekly Fishing Report at Linlithgow Loch Fishery

A Thriving Fishing Experience Awaits

Over the past week, we welcomed 27 boats and 85 anglers to Linlithgow Loch. Together, they kept 42 fish weighing a total of 130 lbs and successfully returned 86 fish to the water. It’s always heartening to see such enthusiasm for fishing in our beautiful loch.

Successful Fishing Setups

The most effective setups this week included Floating, Midge-Tip, Sink-Tip, Di5, and Di7 lines. Anglers had great success using a variety of flies and lures, such as blobs, boobies, buzzers/muskins, Cormorants, snakes, and other lures.

Highlights from the Week

Monday to Friday:

Ali Fyvie, alongside George Mackintosh, had an impressive outing. They kept 2 fish weighing 4 lbs 6 oz and returned 8. The following day, they released 7 trout. Check out the photos and video of their catch below.

Tam Robinson and John Whyte had a fantastic day, returning 23 fish. Their successful tactics included using a Di5 line with Cormorants, Humungus, and Snake patterns. Gavin Dunn, fishing with Jimmy Russell, released 11 Rainbows, with one impressive catch estimated at 6 lbs.

Tam McIntyre returned 5 fish, while Tam Easton had a productive 4-hour session, returning 14 trout. Mark Lawton also returned 5 fish, and Ian Dobbie released 7 trout.

Saturday: The Waders AC group, consisting of 4 anglers, kept 9 fish weighing 28½ lbs and released 5.

Sunday: The Farmers & Ass AC had a successful day, keeping 22 trout weighing 65 lbs and returning 10. Jimmy Russell returned 5 fish, while Alan McGregor and Mark Lawton each released 4 fish.
