Total rods out: 52. Total fish caught, 129 (63 kept, 66 released). Total weight of kept fish: 175½ lbs.
Weather conditions: Bright sunshine with a cold east wind changing to a northwest wind and back again.
Best tactics: Using Floating and Sink -Tip lines.
Flies used:
The most effective flies for the week included: Buzzers, Dries, Muskins, Crunchers, Fabs and various nymphs. Again, Buzzers and Muskins were the most successful.
Angler catches:
Monday to Friday
Ian Hawkins and Marty Nelson fishing solo managed a couple of trout each; Stuart Penman and partner kept 2 fish for 10 lbs; Chris Stonely and partner also kept 4 fish weighing 12½ lbs; George Mackintosh out with his grandson returned 3 trout; Giles Cooke and his boat partner released 5 fish, Stephen Murgatroyd and father returned 7 fish as did David Moore and Mr Eadie (using a single foam backed daddy with a little silver flash as he has done on latest visits), Stewart Sneddon released 5 fish; SSEB AC out with 3 boats kept 7 fish weighing 16½ lbs; Mike Boyle returned 5 trout, Nigel Muckle and his brother released 5 fish, Robin Smith with George Mackintosh kept 3 fish for 10 lbs and returned 2 trout, Tam Easton out for four hours released 3 trout.
Saturday
Priory AC’s five anglers returned 28 fish, Mick Tarbert and partner kept 8 trout weighing 24 lbs, John Walker had a good day returning 8 fish in his session.
Sunday Dunfermline Artisans out with 5 boats kept 26 trout for 78¼ lbs and returned 1, Aberdour AC’s eight anglers kept 12 fish for 34 lbs 5 oz, Kelty Artisans AC out with three boats kept 11 trout weighing 26 lbs, George Pelini with Andrew McAdam returned 20 fish – see his Facebook post with photos on our page, Mark Lawton with Freddie Paddon returned 4 trout, Jimmy Russell released 3 fish – see photo of his 6 lb-ish Rainbow.
