Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 25/03/2024 – 31/03/2024

There were 33 boats out over the weekend, 31 fish were kept, weighing

105½ lbs and 23 fish were returned.

On Saturday Butcher Boy AC kept 11 fish weighing 36¾ Lbs (one at 6 Lbs), the tactics used were Floating, Hover, Intermediate and Di3 lines also a mix of flies, mainly Boobies, Cormorant, Damsels, and mini-Snakes. The most successful tactic was a Floating line with Damsels. Falkirk Fly Dressers returned 5 Rainbows using Midge Tip, Di3, and Di5 lines with Boobies and Snakes. Mark Smith and Mark Lawton returned 2 Trout with an Intermediate line, the fly being an Orange Lure also a Floating line with a Damsel.

Sunday saw Falkirk Municipal AC keeping 11 trout for 36¼ Lbs. Fishing for 4 hours, Ali Fyvie returned a good-sized Rainbow, Jimmy Russell and Gavin Dunn fishing around the Hatchery Bay area returned 6 Rainbows caught with Cormorants and Fabs on Midge Tip lines.
