Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 28/04/2025 –04/05/2025

Over the week, 65 boats and 118 anglers were out; 149 fish weighing 397¾ lbs were kept, and 275 fish were returned. The successful set-ups used floating lines with fabs(orange or sunburst), buzzers, especially vicars, Diawl Bachs, muskins, dries and top-hats.

The best catches for the week using the right tactics were by;


Monday to Thursday:

Tam Robinson returned 17 trout; Kelvinside Academical AC’s six anglers released 32 fish.

Mr Malcolmson and his boat partner released 17 Rainbows; Mr Green returned 15 trout; Balbeggie AC out on Friday evening kept 45 fish weighing 104 lbs and released 20 into the Loch; Gavin Dunn returned 24 fish; Nigel Muckle and his partner returned 10 trout; Marty Nelson released 17 fish.


Saturday: Waders AC kept 8 fish for 27 lbs and returned 3; Townhill AC’s 14 members kept 32 fish weighing 86¾ lbs; Wellington AC with 5 anglers kept 7 fish for 25 lbs and returned 1; Bank of Scotland Glasgow District AC’s six members kept 4 fish weighing 10 and released 5; George Peline released 15 fish – see photo of one of his biggest;

Mr Bennet and his partner kept 8 trout weighing 20 lbs 10 oz.


Sunday: Rosyth Civil Service AC out with 7 boats kept 31 trout for 78½ lbs and released 27, Malcolm Petri contributed 15 fish to their total catch; Railway Inn AC’s six anglers returned 13 fish; Stuart Sneddon released 5; Mark Lawton with Freddie Paddon returned 16 fish - see photo of Mark's catch;

Jimmy Russell and his son released 15 fish – see photo of JR juniors' Rainbow.
