Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 31/03/2025 –06/04/2025

Over the week, 51 boats and 74 anglers were out; 51 fish weighing 14 ½ lbs were kept, and 275 fish were returned. The successful set-ups used floating, Midge-tip, and sink- lines with blobs/fabs, buzzers, cormorants, black/green lures, Diawl Bachs, Snatchers, and snakes.


Best catches for the week using the right tactics were by;


Monday: Stuart Lawson and his boat partner kept1 fish weighing 4 lbs and returned 40; Tam Roberson and buddy returned 5 trout; Lenny Reid kept 2 trout for 5¾ lbs, he also put back 3.

Tuesday: Ali Fyvie with George Mackintosh on a 4 hours permit returned 4 Rainbow. Mr Webster returned 4 fish; Tam Easton returned a couple of trout while Robin Lambert kept 1 fish weighing 3½ lbs.

Wednesday:  Tam Robinson with Gavin Dunn returned 10 fish; Marty Nelson put back 16 Rainbows into the Loch.

No boats were out on Thursday:

 On Friday Ian Dobbie fishing solo returned 20 fish; Nigel Muckle also on hie own puy back 21 fish; Gavin Dunn out with Jimmy Russell netted and returned 20 trout; Robin Smith and George Mackintosh kept 4 fish for 4¾ lbs and returned 19; Andy Lumsden and partner returned 7 trout.

Saturday was a good day for Wellington AC six anglers braved the very cold east wind until 3pm kept 8 trout weighing 22¼ lbs, they also put back 19 fish.

The best catches on Sunday were by Aberdour AC with three boats keeping 29 fish weighing 75¾ lbs and returning 20 plus; Bonnybridge AC’s 17 anglers kept 6 fish for 20 lbs 10 oz, they managed to returned 49; Alan McGregor returned 14 fish; Alister Golding out with George Murphy put back 14 trout; Jimmy Russell returned 10, while William Brownie and partner returned 8 fish into the Loch.
