Overall weekly summary for Linlithgow Loch Fishery catch report 07/06/2026–14/06/2026

Total rods out: 28. Total fish caught, 62 (29 kept, 33 released). Total weight of kept fish: 82¾ lbs.

Weather conditions: Mixed week with bright sunshine, cloud, rain and changing wind directions.

Best tactics: Using Floating, Midge-Tip and Sink -Tip lines.

Flies used:

The most effective flies for the week included: Buzzers, Daiwl Bachs, Dries including olive and brown CDC’s, foam backed daddies and size 18 black gnats, Cormorants, Muskins, Crunchers, Fabs and various nymphs. Buzzers, Dries and Muskins were the most successful. Many anglers who were out mentioned plenty of fish moving, taking but being dropped before getting into the net.

Best catches:

Monday to Friday

Marty Nelson kept 2 fish for 6 lbs and returned 3; IBM AC’s 6 anglers out in the evening released 12 trout. Tam Easton returned 5 trout which were on dries within his 4 hours fishing - see his video below.



Gavin Dunn with Jimmy Russell released 4 fish; Tam Robinson out for four hours returned 4 fish.

Saturday

No anglers out fishing due to the 35-40+ gusts.

Sunday:

A hard day due to the stormy winds yesterday. Mark Lawton and guest managed to return 4 fish; Cameron Brown’s young son managed to net and keep a 3 lb 10 oz Rainbow; Ricky Wilson and grandson kept a trout weighing 2½ lbs.
