Linlithgow Loch Catch Report – 05/05/2025 –11/05/2025

Over the week, 55 boats and 91 anglers were out; 76 fish weighing 257¼ lbs were kept, and 227 fish were returned. The successful set-ups used floating lines with fabs, buzzers, especially vicars, Diawl Bachs, muskins, dries and top hats.
The best catches for the week using the right tactics were by.
Monday to Thursday:
Stuart Sneddon released 5 fish; Mr Bremner and his boat partner returned 11; and Mr Robertson put back 8 trout.
Gavin Dunn and his guest returned 6 Rainbows, Gavin netted a 5½ lbs Rainbow – see photo;

Chris Stonely with his boat partner kept 4 fish for 15 lbs and turned 15; Mike Boyle and Freddie Paddon fishing solo, each released 4 fish.
Tam Easton had a fantastic day on Thursday, releasing 25 trout into the Loch.
Robin Smith with George Mackintosh returned 13 trout; Gavin Dunn with Jimmy Russell returned 8 fish while Graham Hoggan returned 6. Freddie Paddon was out again and released 17 fish.
Saturday: Gilmerton AC, with 6 boats, kept 39 trout weighing 143½ lbs and released 22. Member Ian McNicoll returned a Blue trout weighing 8 lbs—see photo.

Jimmy Russell and George Bell out in the Wheely boat returned 20 Rainbows. Mr Lewis and his boat partner put back 14 trout.
Sunday: We had our May competition with 26 anglers keeping 29 fish weighing 81 lbs 1 oz and returning 22. Some did better than others, however, 1st prize of £100 and a trophy was won by Willie Jacobson, and James Russell won £25 for the heaviest fish.
Mr Gilmour released 7 fish and Stuart Sneddon put back 4 trout.
