There have been 68 boats out in the past week. There were 104 rods, 58 fish were kept, weighing 168 lbs, and 219 fish were returned. Best tactics were still floating, midge tip and di3 lines using buzzers/muskins, blobs, diawl bachs, cormorants and black/green lures.
On Monday 18th we had 10 anglers out, best catches were Stewart Maxwell and his partner kept 5 fish for 16 lbs, Mr O’Neil and his partner returned 10, Mr McGregor out alone returned 7 fish. In total 7 fish were kept for 25 lbs and 37 returned to the loch.
Tuesday saw 4 single anglers out in boats releasing 21 trout, best results went to Ali Fyvie returning 8 and 9 by Tam Easton.
On Wednesday Grangemouth AC with 3 anglers had a good day on the loch keeping 6 for 18 lbs and returning 4 fish, the other 9 anglers out had a mixed day.
SPRAFFS West out on Thursday with 12 anglers returned 36 fish into the loch. Ian Dobbie returned15 rainbows.
Friday, we had Edinburgh Trout AC keeping 11 fish. Nigel Muckle returned 6 trout, while Scott McLachlan returned 8 caught mostly on snakes, Scott reckons the heaviest weighing approximately 6 lbs, the rest between 3 to 5 lbs all nice conditioned fish – see photos
Clubs out on Saturday found it hard going with the swirling wind. IBM Fishing Club with 7 anglers kept 8 for 24 lbs and returned 13, mostly on buzzers, dials, cormorants and damsels. Cowdenbeath & District AC’s 6 anglers kept 10 for 29 lbs 4 oz, while Norhet Fly Fishing Club kept 7 for 21 lbs and returned 5 – see photo
On Sunday Leslie & Glenrothes AC with 4 boats returned 36. The other 8 boat anglers out had good catches, the best being Jimmy Russell and Ian Dobbie returning 15 fish caught on buzzers, also, Freddie Paddon with his son Scott returned 9 again using buzzers. Bank anglers Alister Golding and Murphy returned 9 and 4 respectively using buzzers.
