Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 22/08/2022 – 28/08/2022

There were 34 boats out in the past week with 56 rods, 48 fish were kept, weighing 149 lbs, and 64 fish were returned. Fish were taking buzzers, Blobs, Rabbits, Cormorants, Fabs, Boobies and Yellow Dancer patterns, also, dries. Anglers commented on dropping fish and being snapped quite a lot.


The weeds in the Loch are dying back, water clarity is still good.


The best catches during the week were on Monday by Mr Graham returning 3, on Tuesday, Tam Easton who kept 4 fish weighing 12 lbs, Mr Miller also finished up with 4 fish for 12 lbs. Wednesday saw Grangemouth AC with 2 boats keeping 6 trout weighing 21 lbs and returning 1, Nigel Muckle and his boat partner returning 9, Mike Boyle and his partner keeping 8 for 21 lbs and returning 10 into the loch. Out on Thursday, Ian Dobbie returned 9 rainbows while Alister Golding and his partner returned 6 mostly on dries. Out again on Friday Ian Dobbie returned 5, Andy Lumsden and his partner kept 4 fish weighing 12 lbs.


The best catches over the weekend were for Craig Cowan and Scott McLachlin keeping 6 fish for 19 lbs. – see the photo of Craig's 5-pounder, also, Mr Buck returning 8 and George Peline keeping 4 rainbows weighing 12 lbs.
