Linlithgow Loch Catch Report - 29/08/2022 – 04/09/2022

There were 28 boats out in the past week with 42 rods, 13 fish were kept, weighing 41 lbs, and 19 fish were returned. Fish were taking buzzers, Blobs, Cormorants, Fabs, Cat Boobies and Snake patterns.

The weeds in the Loch are now starting to recede with the water clarity improving.

The best catches during the week were by Nigel Muckle returning 3 fish and Ian Dobbie who returned 7 fish on buzzers. Most anglers caught 1 – 2 trout.

The weekend saw Falkirk Fly Dressers with 3 anglers only getting 2 fish to the net, however, they dropped quite a few. Jimmy Russell and Craig Cowen both returned 2 fish they managed to get to the net. Matt Neilson, out for 4 hours, returned a fully silvered rainbow weighing 3 lbs caught on a size 16 dry fly (the hook was bent and twisted by the rainbow).

Usual comments by anglers were of connecting with fish but dropping fish and being snapped.
