The loch is in very good condition for the time of year. At various times in the day, all over the loch, lots of fish are showing and we are expecting some lucky anglers to have a bonanza in the near future. The high winds and very heavy rain fall have caused a bit of discolouration but this will soon clear. We did have a bit o a scare last week when a very nasty blue green algal bloom has blown into town bay but it went down as quickly as it appeared – almost overnight.
The loch is still quiet but some of the anglers who are going out are managing decent catches. Iain MacDougall and George McIntosh managed to return nine fish between them. Iain was fishing a pink snake at a depth of around 15 feet. In the last couple of days huge buzzers with what appears to be a clear body (size 8) have been hatching and the fish are feasting on them.
We continue to stock regularly.
We are now offering evening sessions and four-hour sessions at £15 for catch and release and £20 for a two fish kill ticket.
